PRINCIPAL ENGINEER - WATER
Catherine is Principal Process Engineer for Ekistica, specialising in small and remote community water and wastewater systems. She has over 20 years’ experience in the water industry. Her area of focus is strategic planning for remote communities, particularly those which have constrained water supplies or water quality issues. She has also delivered, and overseen delivery and operation of, a variety of complex water treatment systems in remote Australian Indigenous communities. This work has given her an excellent grounding in the infrastructure -
and operational needs of delivering safe and secure water supplies in difficult to service areas.
Catherine’s other area of expertise is biosolids management for both cities and remote areas. She has a deep understanding of current and emerging issues around biosolids treatment, beneficial use and community concerns. Since 2020, she has delivered the professional development course for IWES on biosolids on management offered under the auspices of the University of Queensland.
Working on her own or leading multidisciplinary teams, she delivers high quality work. She is well respected in the field due to her thoughtful approach and knowledge and understanding of the complexities of delivering robust solutions.
